چکیده

Profile extrusion is a production technique to make polymer profiles and hollow tubes. At certain distance after the die exit extrudate guided into cooling chamber, where cooled extensively set part dimensions. Uniform in chamber required avoid warpage twisting of due differential shrinkage. The effect on shape residual stresses final product are numerically studied. Two different cases studied: 2D axisymmetric problem viscoelastic fluid exiting an annular 3D square shaped die. from L c $L_{\text{c}}$ exit. Extrudate modeled by subjecting heat loss via convection. For < z ≤ $L_{\text{die}} $z>L_{\text{c}}$ varied mimic speeds. Weissenberg Wi, this work. Results show that for high values Wi significant skin-effect appear near edges numbers small . It also shown significantly altered swell, when slower. fast , does not have time relax elastic “frozen in.” This leads less swell but large edges.

Numerical Study on Residual Thermal Stresses in Carbon Fibre Pullout

This paper investigated the effect of residual thermal stresses on carbon fibre pullout by using cohesive zone modelling. The finite element method was applied to analyse the residual thermal stress components along the interface between the fibre and matrix due to curing. A comparison study on the anisotropic and isotropic material properties are considered using four typical carbon fibres, T3...

Distribution of Residual Stresses in Polymer Reinforced Carbon Nanotubes and Laminated Carbon Fibers

In this study, the distribution of residual stress in fiber-reinforced nanocomposites is investigated. Fiber-reinforced nanocomposite is composed of three substances: carbon fiber, carbon nanotube (CNT), and polymer matrix. Unit cells in hexagonal packing array with different arrays as unit cell, 3*3 and 5*5 arrays have been selected as suitable for finite element analysis of residual stresses....

Multiscale Numerical Study of 3D Polymer Crystallization during Cooling Stage

We aim to study the behavior of polymer crystallization during cooling stage in injection molding more accurately, the multiscale model and multiscale algorithm proposed in our previous work Ruan et al., 2012 have been extended to the 3D polymer crystallization case. Our multiscale model incorporates two distinct length scales: a coarse grid for the heat diffusion and a fine grid for the crysta...

Numerical Analysis of explosion effects on the redistribution of residual stresses in the underwater welded pipe

Structural health monitoring of cracked structures is one of beloved subject of researchers recently. Consider of crack behavior in the water and energy pipeline is important because of environmental problems. In this paper consider of crack parameters in the underwater pipe subjected to mechanical transient load is investigated. For this purpose, three- dimensional parametric model of cracked ...
